In its experimental music theatre ‘OPER OTZE AXT’, inspired by the life of the East German punk anti-hero Dieter ‘Otze’ Ehrlich, the collective ‘DRITTE DEGENERATION OST’ explores destruction as a historical, narrative and musical motif.

The DoMysli performance delves into the universe, into the mind of a little boy, Tomi, who is having a very ordinary day. But seemingly boring activities suddenly turn into an exciting ride full of wonder and adventure.
In an experience-based way, we talk about the different functions and areas of the mind, learn how dreams, memories, feelings work, but also where fear arises and how to deal with it. All this almost without words, but with lots of music, images and theatre magic.

Ensemble KHWOSHCH 2021 (concept, composition, performance)
‘DINOPERA’ is performed on a small but luxurious stage, which is modelled on the stage of a baroque theatre. The opera combines elements of traditional Czech puppetry with German-language opera and experimental musical genres.
Ancient creatures, from the first organisms to the majestic dinosaurs themselves, perform as opera singers, displaying an astonishing range of vocal abilities and thus bringing the great tragedy of their extinction to life and making it tangible.

Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen 2023 (Composition and performance)
‘The Little Prince’ is a piece of longing for young and old. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's work is as much at home in children's bedrooms as it is in the hearts of adults. The MiR Puppet Theatre brings his world to life in the mind's eye of the reader through the story of the Little Prince. In the production by Jörg Thieme and the version by Carola Cohen-Friedlaender, the music by Mathias Baresel also plays a special role.

Heavy Theatre is the latest project by the group KHWOSHCH. In this object theatre, the focus is on heavy objects. How do they influence the performers on stage, what postures and movements do they make necessary and where does the theatre reach its physical limits? Mathias Baresel's music reflects the human groaning under the weight of the world.

It is a story about transformation, about longing, hardship and desire. It is about making peace with the forces that are beyond our control and the desire to rise up.

A musician and a puppeteer tell the story of two boys from difficult backgrounds and their journey to the Olympus of rap. Driven by the hope of a better life, they repeatedly overcome difficulties and learn about the advantages but also the pitfalls of success. We see behind the facades of the cool rapper and his public persona. And at the same time, we honour the willpower it takes to stand one's ground against all odds.
